Elope in St Louis - Frequently Asked Questions

What is your price?
The Simple Elopement is based on distance from my home and averages $140 to $300.
The Deluxe Elopement Package  starts at $600 and includes officiant, flowers and a professional wedding photographer.

How many guests can I have?
An elopement is very, very small - up to 10 guests is ideal.
If you have more than 15 guests, then it is considered an intimate wedding and involves more planning on your part.
Pop-up Weddings are very popular and I perform them often.
In Missouri or in Illinois no witnesses are required - you can have a private ceremony!

How soon can I book an elopement?
We are not taking last minute elopements.
Booking events 7 days or longer from now.
You can check my availability calendar HERE.

What are the minimum requirements?
In Missouri, you must provide a Marriage License which can be used right away up to 30 days.
In Illinois, a Marriage License and a location in the same county as the license was issued and can be used up to 60 days.
The date, time, and location is finalized over the phone and a confirmation form must be filled out.

Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely!  Here are the vows I use in a repeat after me  format.
[Name], today I take you in marriage.
To join and to share all that is to come.
Through the best and the worst, I will always be there.

Do we meet before the ceremony?
We are not required to meet in person.
If you desire a meeting, it would take place in Kirkwood.

Is there a deposit to hold the date?  Do you have an agreement?
For a simple elopement, my fee requires a retainer fee and a ceremony fee.
You are required to fill out a Confirmation Form and I respond with an Email Confirmation.
The Email Confirmation is considered our agreement.
For the Deluxe Elopement Package, half of the total amount is due to hold the date.

What do you wear at the ceremony?
I usually wear a black pants outfit, but not a robe.

What happens if you become unavailable due to illness or conflict?
In the 15+ years of performing ceremonies, I have needed to find a substitute only a few times.
I provide a substitute to perform the same ceremony or you have the option to find someone else.

Do you have any special deals or features?
If you come to Kirkwood, MO my fee is $60.
